Signing Up and Paying

On the website: go to the Mixers page, find your date, and click Sign up & pay — by card, or choose cash or check at the door. The first time, you will be asked to create a free account and sign the liability waiver; the account is only so the site can hold your signed waiver, it costs nothing and commits you to nothing. After that, signing up for a week is a click. (Under 18? See Waiver below first.)

On the weekly sign-up sheet: the Google sheet works as before, and an invitation to it is emailed each week. To be added to that list, send your name and email to getatennis4all@gmail.com. If you sign up on the sheet, you can still pay for your date on the Mixers page, or bring cash or a check made out to GETA to the person running the mixer.

Whichever way you sign up and pay, the person running the evening can see who has paid, so please pay for the date you are actually coming to.

Who Can Play

Women, men, all ages. You need to be comfortable playing doubles; players rotate courts and partners through the evening. Four courts. New balls are provided.

Waiver

Everyone who plays at the domes signs the liability waiver once. The domes are unstaffed, so the signed waiver is the only record GETA holds.

Players under 18 need a parent or guardian’s signature. Either sign up as a Student member on the Membership Levels page — $10 a year — where the guardian signs the release as part of it, or print the Parent/Guardian Release (PDF) and send or bring it signed, as above.

Getting There

Location: Murray Athletic Center, Elmira College, Route 14 in the town of Veteran. Only the two doors to the main entrance on the far right are open. Enter, take the left door out of the big lobby, follow the corridor around a corner, turn left, and pass two bathrooms to the entrance of the tennis dome.

Parking: drive past the circle in front of the middle dome, then turn left to park. Do not leave a car parked around the circle. Parents can drop youth off at the circle.

Coat hooks are on the right as you enter the dome and on the side walls by courts 1 and 4. There are no lockers; the nearby bathrooms have chairs for changing.

Three Rules

  1. No food or alcohol.
  2. No profanity or bullying.
  3. If the weather is wet, bring sneakers to change into so the courts stay clean.
